This is a fight song. Katy sings about people who face some difficulties and are depressed. They make some mistakes, so they want to start again. I can know these things by the phrase of “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?” The second phrase of “Do you ever feel, feel so paper-thin, like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?” means that Katy wants to ask us if we ever thought that we are not good at anything and weak people. I also think this phrase, “Do you ever feel already buried deep? Six feet under screams, but no one seems to hear a thing” talks about people who are having difficulty in breathing because they feel stress, and they want other people to help them. When it comes to the phrase of “Do you know that there’s still a chance for you? ‘Cause there’s a spark in you”, I think “spark” explains people’s motivation and inspiration, so Katy wants to say that we can still hang on because we have a “spark” in our mind. I also suppose that we can be better as soon as we motivate ourselves, and we can do anything what we want to do freely by the phrase of “You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine Just own the night like the Fourth of July” Next, the phrase of “’Cause baby, you’re a firework. Come on, show ’em what you’re worth. Make ’em go “oh, oh, oh!” As you shoot across the sky-y-y” explains that Katy wants to tell us the wonderfulness of freedom, so she compares the colorful fireworks to freedom. I think she cheers people who don’t have confidence and she thinks that everyone has great talents and they can have many chances. She tells use not to be afraid of trying to do something! I also think this phrase, “Baby, you’re a firework. Come on, let your colors burst. Make ’em go “oh, oh, oh!” You’re gonna leave ’em falling down oh oh” means individuality is important and we should show more of our own originality. If we do so, we can experience a new world. Katy uses the phrase of “You don’t have to feel like a waste of space. You’re original, cannot be replaced. If you only knew what the future holds. After a hurricane, comes a rainbow” because Katy wants to explain we can’t know our future, but after we overcome the troubles and sadness, happy and pleasant things surely happen. So she wants to tell us not to succumb to our negative feeling and other obstacles. And I can imagine Katy says that infinity possibilities are spread front of us, so we can try to do everything to grasp our best future from the phrase of “Maybe the reason why all the doors are closed. So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road. Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow. And when it’s time you know” At the end, “Boom” means roar and I think the word expresses the state of releasing our mind. I also think this is a song for people who don’t have the confidence to cheer them and Katy wants to tell them to never give up by the phrase of “Boom, boom, boom. Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon. It’s always been inside of you, you, you. And now it’s time you let it through-ooh-ooh”

＜Fox and Wolf＞

1. There is a Fox and a Wolf at a certain place. The Fox and the Wolf look alike. Both of them have white fur, triangular ears and luxuriant tails, but only the color of their eyes is different. The Fox has beautiful golden eyes and the Wolf has beautiful blue eyes. They live in the animal village.

2. The Fox is kind, cheerful and good at singing. He is always surrounded by many other animals and talks to them. All animals like him. He eats delicious food and lives in a good lair. The Wolf is ill-natured, lies a lot and likes to play a trick. He is eloquent in speech and other animals are often deceived. All the animals don’t like him. He is hungry and lives in a bad lair.

3. The Wolf envies the Fox and wants to turn into him. The Wolf thinks that if he turns into the Fox, he will get delicious food from other animals and live in comfort.

4. Then the Wolf proposes to the Fox. “Let’s change places!” “Why?” “I want to talk to other animals, but when I approach to them, they are afraid of me and run away. I think that if I approach as you, other animals will come near and talk to me. Please help me!” “O.k. I’ll help you! I’ll live as you for one week.” “Oh, my friend! Thanks!!” The good-natured Fox agrees to this suggestion. They use color contact lenses and change the color of their eyes. Now, the Wolf has golden eyes and the Fox has blue eyes.

5. The next day, the Wolf starts to live as the Fox and the Fox starts to live as the Wolf. There are many animals near the Wolf. He can eat fresh fruits and nuts, and sleep on a soft and fluffy bed. At the same time the Fox is alone. He can eat dried fruits and nuts, and sleep on a rugged bed. The Wolf is happy, but the Fox is unhappy.

6. After one week, the Fox says to the Wolf. “It is one week by today. We’ll return to its former state from tomorrow, won’t we?” However the Wolf says….

7. “NO!! I’ll continue to live as you from now on too! Now I’m not the Wolf, I’m the Fox!!” The Fox is shocked and gets angry. The Wolf is completely taken with present situation and don’t want to stop living a happy life.

8. The Fox says to the Wolf. “That was not our agreement! You said to me that you would pretend to be me for just for one week! I was unhappy for this term. I want to stop this soon!” Though the Wolf hears the Fox’s protests, he looks the other way. “I’m a liar. From the beginning I had no intention of keeping our promise!”

9. The Fox takes off the blue contact lenses and goes to other animal’s place. He says to them, “I’m the real Fox! I was deceived by the Wolf!” However the Wolf comes there and says to other animals, “He tells a lie! He’ll trick us again! He is the Wolf!!” The Fox tries to tell the real thing to other animals, but they don’t believe in him by the Wolf’s ingenious storytelling.

10. The Fox isn’t believed in by anyone and is given up by his friends plods away. Then the God thinks the Fox is poor, so he says to the Fox. “Come to the top of the hill at the time when the sun rises up tomorrow. I’ll let you lead former happy life.”

11. The following day, the Fox goes to the top of the hill. It is getting light slowly and at the moment that the sunlight covers around….

12. The sunlight pours to the Fox and the color of his fur change from white into gold!!

13. The Fox goes back to other animal’s place soon and tell the story to them. Other animals who didn’t believe in him the previous day look at his bright golden fur and this time they believe in him.

14. And then the other animals blame the Wolf. The Wolf tries to defend himself, but nobody listen to his explanation.

15. Though the Wolf tries to run away God doesn’t pardon him. The God says to him. ”I’ll administer my punishment to you. You must leave here and live alone. You have to reflect or you’ll never return here.” Then the God change the color of his fur from white into grey so people know he is not the Fox.

16. This is why the fur of the wolf is grey and the fur of the fox is gold. This is why the wolf is the symbol of being a liar.

I would like to explain my room. I live in an apartment house, so my room is so small. Fist, there is a big window faces northwest. Next to the window, there are some wardrobes and a sideboard which there is a CD player on it. And then, there is a bed next to the sideboard. There is a closet opposite to the window, and there are something, for example, clothes, some album and bags. And the full-length mirror is leaned against the leg of the bed. I also have a small table and a legless chair in the center of my room and I study here. When I sit on the chair, there is a shelf and I put textbooks, accessories and magazines away in it. My room is small, but I like my room.

This is a disappointed love song. I think both of the lyrics and the video explain that the breakup of a couple’s relationship and “her” feeling is also broken. The lyrics explain that “a woman” believes and loves “a man”, but he deceives her, so she can’t believe anything. I think Natalie sings this song to her ex-boyfriend. I think the singer may sing about her experience and she may have been dropped by her ex-boyfriend who told lies to her. A woman in the lyrics loved a man truly, so she can’t forget him, or she may love him even now. I can know a man is liar from the phrase of “you couldn’t be that man I adored” and “There’s nothing where he used to lie”. The state that he acts the role of a gentle man connects the scene of the video. In the video, Natalie and an actor play a couple, and the state of “playing roles” match the state of the man who pretends about his true character. The singer may think a woman and a man will break up, so the singer uses the phrase of “You’re a little late, I’m already torn”. We can also know that they will break up from the video. At the end, the set in the video is broken and that explains the couple’s love will be over.

This is a disappointed love song. A woman has gone around with a man, but the man hurt the woman’s feeling and that was a great shock to her. The woman told the man that she was going to break up with him, but he didn’t want to her to and wanted her to forgive him. So the man tries to apologize to the woman, though she doesn’t want to see him and she is still shocked and gets angry. I can image such a couple through this song. I think Rihanna compares the end of relationship of a couple as the end of a show in this song. I think the first phrase of the song, “how about a round of applause, standing ovation” means that the couple’s love will be over. Applause and standing ovation express the end of a show. I also think the word “dumb” has two meanings. One meaning is that the man is stupid, and the other meaning is that the man doesn’t say anything to the woman. The woman thinks the man tells only superficial words, so he seems to her that he does not say anything true, and that means he can’t say anything. When it comes to the phrase of “when I know you’re only sorry you got caught”, this means that the man isn’t really sorry for what he did and thinks he is poor man. I think the woman guesses that the man only thinks he was unlucky when he did something bad and was found in the act of doing the bad thing by her, so Rihanna wants to say that the man is very self-centered by this phrase. Next, the phrase of “you put on quite a show” means the man is liar. I suppose the woman thinks she has been deceived by the man’s ostensible words, so Rihanna suggests that his lies are a kind of show. And the phrase of “really had me going” means that the woman has believed his insincere words and she thinks herself stupid, so Rihanna uses this ironically. Rihanna uses the phrase of “go on and take a bow” because she wants to express the end of a show as she does in the phrase of “how about a round of applause, standing ovation”. We can imagine that the woman is going to burn the man’s clothes because she wants to destroy her memories of the man with the phrase of “grab your clothes and get gone, you better hurry up, before the sprinklers come on.” I think the word of “re-run” in the phrase of “this just looks like a re-run” means that the man says the same things over and over again.

<Part 1>

Mr. Bean is sleeping. It is eight o’clock and the alarm clock goes off, but Mr. Bean puts the alarm clock into a glass of water to stop the alarm. Then the tea maker starts and hot water sprays from the hose onto Mr. Bean’s foot. However Mr. Bean doesn’t get up and he stops the water with his big toe, and then he goes back sleep. Time passed and it is about eight fifty when Mr. Bean finally gets up, then he makes his bed and then wanders around for a while. Mr. Bean is half asleep, so he bumps against the wall and then he is awake. He puts on his slippers and goes to the window to open the curtain. Next, Mr. Bean starts to stretch and then shave, and then the shaver catches nose hairs, so he has a bad pain in his nose. Mr. Bean reaches for a pair of scissors and after that he cuts nose hairs to free himself. He opens the closet and takes out his jacket, but he doesn’t notice the sign that he says should goes to the dentist at nine. Then Mr. Bean hangs up the wet clock to dry and when he turns, he notices the sign at last. The time is almost nine o’clock, so Mr. Bean is flustered and turns around on the spot. He grabs a shirt, a jacket, regular pants, socks, a tie, shoes, toothpaste and a toothbrush, and then leaves the room. However he tiptoes back into the room to put a quilt over his teddy bear. Mr. Bean hurries to his car and he throws all things he has into the car, then he also gets a brick and starts the car, crashing into some garbage cans.

<Part 2>

Mr. Bean is changing his clothes from his pajamas to a suit while driving. At first, he takes off his pajama and puts on his shirt. He buttons his shirt and almost runs off the road. Then, he put a brick on the accelerator to change his pants. He takes off slippers and pajama pants, and then he puts on his regular pants. He can’t pull them on, so just then he hits on the idea to move to the back seat and steer with his feet. His driving technique is good and he can wear buckle his pants. Next he puts on his jacket and puts on his socks, then he goes back to the front seat and when he goes into a roundabout, he puts on a tie and his other things. It takes a little long time, so his car goes around and around the roundabout putting his shoes. After he finished changing his shoes, he takes the brick off the accelerator and drives his car. Now he has changed all his clothes, so he tries to brush his teeth. He tries to put toothpaste on his toothbrush, but he put it on the dashboard. He brushes his teeth looking at the side view mirror of his car, and then he rinses his mouth with water from the wipers. His spit hits the back of another man who is under a tree, so the man thinks the white spit is bird droppings. At last, he arrives at the dentist and parks pushing another car out of the parking space. After he gets out of his car and is looking at the parking meter, a police woman comes and checks for illegal parking. Then the police woman notices something and she looks at him dubiously and he realizes that the zipper of his pants is open and his pajama pants are showing. He pulls out his pajama pants and stuffs it into his car in a flurry, and then he zips up his pants and goes to the dentist.

<Part 3>

Mr. Bean enters a room where there is a nurse and a doctor. He sits in the chair and the nurse puts a bib on him while the doctor prepares for the treatment. Then Mr. Bean makes his chair recline because it is a reclining seat. He disappears out of the screen, but the doctor doesn’t notice. He slowly moves the chair back up and he tries to put it in its former position before the doctor notices. At last, he can be in the former posture the moment the doctor turns. The doctor brings a cup of tea and an x-ray, and then he turns on the light. The doctor use a suction tool to dry Mr. Bean’s mouth and checks which tooth hurt, which makes Mr. Bean jump. When the dentist turns away from Mr. Bean, Mr. Bean uses the suction tool to touch his cheek and tongue, and then to clean his jacket while the doctor prepares something. He also sucks the doctor’s tea with the tool, so he puts back the instrument hastily, and the doctor returns and wonders where his cup of a tea went giving Mr. Bean a look. The doctor brings a hypodermic syringe and injects it into Mr. Beans’ mouth and Mr. Bean feels his mouth go numb. After the doctor leaves, Mr. Bean picks up the hypodermic syringe, but the doctor comes back soon, so he hides it. The doctor brings a plate of cavity filling material next time and checks his tooth again, just then Mr. Bean has a pain in his tooth and jumps again, so he gives the doctor’s leg an injection accidentally. The doctor’s leg is anesthetized, so he grabs the equipment to stand up, but then the equipment topples and he is knocked out. Mr. Bean wants to finish quickly, so he decides to fix own teeth himself. He looks at the x-ray and confirms which tooth needs filling, and then he uses a drill and fills the cavity. However he discovers the x-ray is reversible, so he does the treatment again on the other side. He finishes the treatment, but he discovers the x-ray can be flipped up-side down, so he is tired of confirming which tooth hurt and decides to treat all his teeth. After he filling all his teeth, his jaws gets stuck and he can’t open his mouth. He tries to separate his teeth, and just then the doctor wakes up. Mr. Bean is astonished and because his mouth opens, his teeth separate. Mr. Bean finishes the treatment and is satisfied, so he leaves the room, giving the dentist the bib, and the dentist can’t believe what happened.

It is important for students to have  meals, not only eating but also the places where you eat and the people who you eat with have a strong effect on school life. If you do without meals, you will not be able to do anything well. This survey was conducted on 20 students at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto in May of this year in order to find the problems of everyone’s meal and solve these problems.

20 percent of those surveyed replied that they skip breakfast every morning because they don’t have time. So they prefer yoghurt and cereals for breakfast. 75 percent said that their mothers cook their breakfast adding that they can’t cook or they live with their families and depend on their mothers. We can know that there are some people who don’t think breakfast is important.

Three –fifths of those surveyed said that they don’t bring their lunch every day. They said they buy and eat their lunch at the students’ lobby, or they order lunch at the students’ hall. When they buy lunch, one out of four persons said that they had paid for other student’s lunch. One of them said, “When some happy things happen, I want to stand my friends’ lunch for them and share my happiness with them.”

All of those surveyed said that they had had dinner with their friends. They also said that they went to eat out with their friends after they entered this university. On the other hand, 55 percent those surveyed said that they have dinner with their families every night. People who live with their families tend to do so. 75 percent of those who surveyed said that they like Japanese dishes for dinner. One of those surveyed said “University students tend to keep irregular hours, but we should eat three meals and care our health.”

By this survey, most of those surveyed don’t think that breakfast is important, so they can skip it. On the other hand, they think that dinner is important, so they eat it with their friends and families. When it comes to lunch, many students don’t bring their box lunch, and we can know that they eat unnourishing lunch. We should eat three nourishing meals to maintain our health even if we don’t have enough time.

I’ll talk about a famous man in the U.S.A. He is a little fat, so his face is round and he has a double chin. Though he is overweight, his height is average. I like his big nose and gentle black eyes and I think they are his most attractive features. Maybe he is forties or fifties because of the wrinkle around his eyes and his dignified presence. He has black thick wavy hair and a black moustache, so he looks like an oil king of Arab, but he isn’t a king. In fact, he is a president! His company gives dream to children, in other words, sells a lot of toys. The new toys which he hits upon are unique and amusing, that’s why many children are attracted. He wanted to work at the company which handled toys because he has liked to invent new things and play with toys since he was a child. Nowadays he continues to make new toys for many children.

 I’ll introduce a famous woman in the U.S.A. She is tall with brown curly hair, a long noise and small eyes. Her face is sharp because she is slim, so she looks like young, thirties. If you meet her, you can go to the concert hall or TV station, because she is a soprano singer. When she was twenty, she made a brilliant debut and became famous soon. Many people, even small children and elderly, are attracted to her clear beautiful voice and her character. She is really kind and modesty, so almost people who have contact with her come to like her. Now she has three children and enjoys her job and child care. She is proud singer not in the U.S.A. but also in the world.

Her face is oval and long. She has black thick curly hair and medium-long length. She parts her hair in the middle and she pulls her half hair at the back. She has beautiful black eyes and her nose is long. Her lower lip is thick. She wears make-up. She is in her thirties. She is average height and a little fat. She wears a turtleneck sweater and a pair of blue jeans. I think she doesn’t get outside very much. She is intelligent and she is an office worker. She’s interested in gardening, so she often gardens during the weekend. She lives with her husband, her daughter, her son and a pet dog. She lives a full life. I knew her at the office. When I was in trouble, she helped me and I made friends with her. She is kind and friendly, so I enjoy talking with her.

His face is round. He has grey thin frizzy hair that is short. His front hair isunique and looks like a spiral. He has gentle eyes and big nose. His lips are thin. When he smiles, his mouth looks like a cat’s mouth. He is in his fifties or sixties. He is a little shorter than average. He is fat, so he has a potbelly. He wears a polo shirt which has a pattern of lateral stripes and jeans. He doesn’t like to play sports, but likes watch them. He especially likes baseball and he often goes to the stadiums to watch baseball games. He has three children, but all of them got married, so he lives with his wife now. He works at a bakery. I found his shop and dropped in there. Then I made friends with him and his wife. He is really kind and funny.
